AEM voltage meter help

Recommended Posts

Ok, so i just bought an AEM voltage meter because there is a really good spot for a gague style meter in my truck and i wanted to utilize this spot for this purpose badly. Now, there is a red and black wire on this unit that is used to complete the 12v circuit but there is no off and on wire like the stinger meter has. Im really wanting to put the power lead at the positive post on my subwoofer amp but then i would have to run a toggle switch and im not really wanting to do that. I want the gague to come on when the key is turned. My question is, can i use a 12 volt relay to do this? Im sure this sounds noobish but i just wanted to know before i spent 11 bucks on this relay. thanks in advance for any comments or input.

yep, steve uses 12 volt relays for all his amps. I dont see how itll be different for your application. As long as your gauge has enough power from the relay, youre golden

I know a guy that has a twin turbo trailblazer SS and he did this with his boost gague and i thought it looked sick. I have also seen it on other SS's with differnt gagues in this spot. I pulled a copy cat but it looks cool and fits my need. Thanks for the comments guys. :drink40:
