ant the ninja Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 my friend has a 97 accord, standard, stock electrical with a BOSS 800 4channel amp on a boston acoustic 10 pushing like 400wrms. Without fail the subs cut out on a really low note or even just if he has the the radio up loud. I cannot figure out whats going on. we tried it with all the settings on zero, bass at -6 on the hu and it still cuts out. anyone have any ideas? Could it possibly be a bad ground? We cant figure it out at all. I had this amp in my truck for my first setup on 10gauge power wire, bridged on all 4 channels and my gain up and I never had a problem with it cutting out. Well when I tried it in his car with all 4 channels bridged at 2ohms each, it got extremely hot. We tested that song hey daddy by usher and when the bass dropped really low it blew both the 15amp fuses, we replaced them with what he had laying around so now he has 2 30amp fuses in it. He had it installed from best buy so I went in and found out where it was grounded too. Down to bare metal but it was loose, so I tightened it down. Guest Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 bridged at 2 ohms? that means each channel is seeing 1 ohm...not good. thats the reason its cutting out and overheating. wire it to a higher ohm load or get a better amp.

But with only 1 channel bridged it gets warm but nothing out of the usual. anyone else see the epic fail in this post?? never, EVER put higher amp fuses than what was originally in there... but.... it is a boss amp... you technically got nothing to lose.... lol.. it sounds like an ohm load issue... check the sub wiring... im guessing its wired to 1 ohm ... or could be really bad voltage drop... you could try to do big III and see if it helps... personally i say replace the amp... is it SVC or DVC subs? pics of wiring could be helpful. of grounds too My first truck...
