Alpine Type R 12" vs. Rockford P3 12"

I'm going to do 2 12" subs for my next setup which subs should i go with?

I'm trying to get a 2 ohm @ 1000 RMS amp (most likely MRP1000 alpine) to power the subs

I already have 1 alpine type R but its a 4 ohm so i cant do 2 and wire it down to 2 ohm

I like the sound of P3's but can they get loud? I am mainly concerned about SPL with some Sq of course.
