memphisbasshead Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 ok this kind of confuses me and i may sound like a noob but i was wondering lets just say for instance that i have a stock 90 amp alternator and i am running at 14.5 volts so thats 60 amps (there is probably about a 30 amp reserve for all of the other equipment in the car) times 14.5 = 870 watts so is that how much are my subs actually getting at full blast even when i have a 1500 watt rms amp?? 7jezuz7 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Regarding you 90 amps. You're not getting them. That's what the alt does at say 2500 rpm. You're probably getting 40-50 amps at idle. EricR Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I would upgrade the batt under the hood to a quality AGM i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
