will box (freq) be lower if i pull the subs out and go motors up

Recommended Posts

i have 4-18 treo ssx subs in box like meades,,tuned around 32 hrtz.. if i take the subs out and turn them motors up and fire them into the box,,will the tuning (freq) drop to play lower notes

The internal airspace of your enclosure will increase by the total displacement of your woofers thus affecting your actual overall tuning.

It could/can change the tuning. But nobody can tell you for a fact how much it will change (if at all), till you test it and tell us. I know when I inverted mine, my peak didn't change.

No they will actually sound the same...the tuning will drop, but only slightly. And yes they will run cooler... more airflow.
