How do I choose a AMP?

Can or should I use these amps for my set up? If not what else should I look for. I have access to VIBE and soundstream, I don't want to break the bank. I'm looking for good quality sound not earth shaking blurryness.

I certainly don't claim to know alot, but here's my take on the situation. The two channel amp should be nice up front. Give or take a little, the front should be pushed strong. The amp has a high pass filter on it, so that's staight.

Bridging the four channel on the eights seems possible. The wattage would be nice, but I'd think the trick would be to get the high pass filters set the same on the amp. The hpf frequency you'd want is there on both bridged channels, but at a different positions of the knobs (check the hpf freq's, you'll see what I mean). Imo, I think the 8's should have a high pass and low pass on them. If you can do that before the signal gets to the amp (head unit controls, electronic x-over, etc.) than you wouldn't have to try to align two differnent hpf's (channel 1&2 versus 3&4 high pass). Did I make any sense? I like the watts, for sure.

On a side note, if this were my highs I may like to have some sort of tweeter in the back, especially if the back end has seating. I realize my opinion doesn't ultimately count and you may have a ton of stuff other than what you mentioned above. Good luck, I'll be watching to see what others' takes are on this.

Thanks for your reply. Would like to see some more ideas. I can hook it all up and follow directs but not doing this for the last 10 years I find myself reading more than working on it.

ok, i dont really understand the ratings on the SS amp but you need to know what ohm the coils are on the 8"s. it says it does 250x2 at 1ohm so if the 8"s are 4ohm you will get a lot less power. but either way, they are amps, they put out some power, use em till you can get something better.

and you want to use the LPF for the 8"s not a HPF like the other guy said.

I don't mind getting different amps I was just wondering if the AMPS I have will work. It's all going into a Hummer H3 that goes offroading often. The amps are going behind a interior body panel thats not the easiest to get behind. The AMPS, what ever they are will be bolted down is a hard to reach area. Because of that I would like to have this done the rite way before I put it all back together. My interior is out rite now, carpet and all.

So since the 8" are 300RMS at 4 ohm do I just find a decent amp that does 2 channels at 4 ohm with 300watts? Seems like most amps now have a billion setting on them. Plus I don't think I ever had nice door speakers in the past, just woofers.

Skittles, I think the 4 channel amp actually is 250x2 @4ohms. The one ohm stuff in the left column is (misleadingly) only for the 2 channel amps.

Now that I see what the application is, I agree that the OP should only use a low passs filter. I use 8's as a low mid, between my 6x9's and subs. In my application I use hpf and lpf, but I use subs below the 8's.

Looking at the lpf options of each channel of the bridged 4.500, you'll still have two different selection ranges or parameters. What I mean is, both channels slope the same freq's, but the knob will be in a different position for each bridged channel. My fear would be a slightly asymetrical crossovers where one side is cut a few Hz different than the other. That wouldn't be the end of the world, so I still think you're good to go. I'm sure you could get the two channels very close to each other.
