I had the one amp smoke on me for no reason a week ago... The "good" amp that i have has a broken Subsonic filter knob (spins freely) and has been broken since i first tried to set it... And to top it off it blew all of its fuses today when it wasnt even playing music... I had a huge turnoff pop everytime i powered off the car... I had to shut off my radio, and then shut off my car to avoid it I don't feel safe running the amps... My 4125 has always worked just fine for me, but i'm literally scarred to power on another 1000.1. I will have a video to throw up for you guys in about an hour. I have had THE SHITTIEST luck with everything... I went to set the 3 way switch on the bottom of my headunit to the proper setting... The switch is broken. The asshole who sold it to me on CACO said nothing was wrong with it... I honestly just want to say fuck all of this... Once again, Bill... if you see this... I know you said they werent playing but do you mean the deck was off or on at a real low volume? Just trying troubleshoot via the internet. Does the amp smell normal or burnt. There is another post of a 2500 that blew one whole side of the mosfets and burnt up the power leads etc....somewhere in these forums and it too was very new. I think it was orange county that it happened to. JZeFF Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 The amp felt warm right after i shot my video earlier... definitely not hot to the touch by any means. I have been EXTREMELY cautious since the first amp blew on me... After i shot the video i turned the remote knob for the 1000.1 all the way down. I also turned the "subwoofer level" on the HU down to 0/15... I just enjoyed my mids/highs on my trip with literally zero subwoofer output. Completely randomly i heard a pop and smelt a slight burning smell... I honestly figured it was one of my 6x9's or something, but was shocked cuz it was on like 12/35 for the volume... I figured there was no way in hell it was anything from the 1000.1 since i had it basically off. IDK what to do guys... I'm not trying to make anyone look bad... at this point i just want out. I'm not trying to make anyone look bad... at this point i just want out. unfortunately may be your best bet weird shit happens dude I can buy a set of cheap components pound the shit outta them for years then decide to upgrade and on the same system the higher end more power capable sets will keep blowing then switch to another high end brand and those will be just fine??? Then have other people that use and swear by the type I kept blowing up. Its that friggn Murphy dude with his laws.... The first one i got was bent and looked like shit internally... Bill replaced it for me, and even replaced an older used 1000.1 i had for a new one because of the inconvenience i went though. Then i get the new ones.... And then one blows first day im using it for apparently no reason.. Now this one blows all its fuses for no reason... And the Subsonic knob is broken.. I'm literally scarred that something is going to "pop"' on me again and light my car on fire... Im just baffled as to my entire situation... I've had the same luck and it just makes you want to back out and start fresh I would honestly try talking to Jacob at Sundown and get 2 SAZ-1000D's they are great amps and I have not heard of very many people that have had problems with them and their customer service is excellent.. if by any chance you did have a problem it could be fixed quickly keep your head up man, may be rough right now with your system but you got a taste of bumpin and I know damn well the car audio in you won't let you just give it up quite yet Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

Do the dat 2500s come with a fuse in them? and did you have a fuse between your dat and power source? The amps i have are the 1000.1's.. they have four 40 amp internal fuses, and yes i do have 150 amp fuses in the positive wire on each amp. The first amp that fried on me, all of the internal fuses were still fine... This time all of the internal fuses popped, and i still havent opened up the amo to see if there is any further damage... Because honestly im still pretty mad about it, i dont like working on stuff when im mad about it. I know how you feel dude!
