I think some of you have subs in your room and I was going to do the same with my 2 rockford fosgate primes. I got a 700w OCZ ModXStream power supply its 12volt rail has 24A. 2 12 volt rails.

I'll be buying this very soon http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17368_Rockford+Fosgate+PRIME+R500-1.html Now what other stuff would I need to to hook it up to my computer? I currently have a logitech z2300 set.

I have a guide on how to hook the amp to the power supply.

Rest In Peace mother.

If you had a 48A PSU you would have a hard time powering a 700watt amp + HU off it. Infact I'm pretty sure the PSU would go into protect mode from the current draw.

A better idea would be to look for a Behringer amp for the sub and use a 2 channel home amp for the speakers.

for a 700 watt amp and a head unit, you would need about 70 amps. I recently did this in a rubbish bin, total of 600 watts. I used 3 power supplies a total of 76 amps for mine, and I don't even have my headunit in, thumps though.

Just do the calculations and you will be sweet. Power(Watts) = Amps x volts.

Now remember that an amp has a general efficiency of 70%.

In your case = 48 x 12 = 576 watts INPUT

576 x 0.7 = 400 watts. You can now run 400 watts rms

So, if you are going to be using this amp that you mentioned, you will need 500 watts rms. Plus headunit (10 amps we shall say)

500 / 0.7 = input power = 715 watts

715 + 120 watts = 835 watts.

835 / 12 = amps = 70 amps. Now we want to run this safely, so for a safety buffer use 10 amps. There we go eighty amps.

So grab another power supply and your away laughing...

And in terms of connecting a headunit, just connect all the power supplies onto a distrobution block - get two, one for ground and one for positive. Fuse the positive to the distro.bution block. Then connect head unit to power and ground then connect as normal.

If you want some more indepth help or pictures or if anything isnt turning on what ever, just pm me mang, I'll sort ya out.
