jbermel012 Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 i am looking to put a new battery into my car and need help on what one. it would run both the car and the stereo. i will have 2000 rms for the equipment. any suggestions?

Robert8252 Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I'm not a expert, just learning as I go but you should be ok with your stock alt..what car do you have? If you get a 200+ alternator you could easily get away with one decent battery in the hood. If sticking with stock alt I would suggest a decent starter battery and a extra in the trunk. 2 XS d1200 or a kinetic 2000 in the trunk and a smaller one under the hood. At least 4 gauge wire from the front battery negative to the rear negative and one from the front positive to the rear positive. You will need to put a inline fuse a little less than a foot away from the front battery and rear battery on the positive. Alex K Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 you run a fused strand of 0 gauge from your posotive post on your battery, to your positive on your alternator. another strand from your negative on your bat, to the chassis of the car, and another from the negative post to the engine block.
