Here's the deal. Since you are trying to tune lower, putting bracing in will raise the tuning, but will increase your cone control. Unfortunately, with that power, it won't control it enough to overcome the unloading with the higher response, so you'll need to reduce the port area.

Since you ARE running that much power, however, you won't have to follow any port size requirements. I say drop the air space as stated, close up the port a bit with either a divider or an extra port wall shooting for around 8in2 per cube, and you're golden.

THANK YOU!!! At last someone with a better language trying to explain same thing i was trying to say hahaha, english is not my best!!

This is getting good. Neo, I went to your allexperts link earlier today at random and had it favortied to send you a few q's on this in the morning. Coincidence? Love it. lol But it's all making sense. And that whole note on port area in in^2/ft^3, that is only if you are running around rated to lower powered setups then? That is something I have not come across in reading, then again this is not typically a common topic. Thanks again guys! :good: I have a good deal of thinking to do tomorrow about this whole project and can report back my brainstorming for some constructive criticism. ;)

hehe good luck, take note of everyhting so you can know at the end what´s the exact tuning and internal space, it´s not too difficult of understand really, next time when you build a box you´ll know exactly what to do and how you can play with internal space, tuning, port area and everything depending on the box and power, cheers!!!! :santa:

That ratio is just a reference. It is optimal for the normal everyday box, but you can modify it to manage your equipment. This is a perfect scenario when you would be forced to modify it to meet not only tuning, but power handling requirements.

My box has only 5.7in2 per cube. =]

Only detail with that amount of port area per cubic feet, is that you need to flare it because you would get port noise, my best sounding box with an awesome flat respond on the swift was 8.5 SQ per cubic feet, sounded great 35-55 hz, that thing only had 2 dbs of difference between 38 hz and 48 hz :clapping:
