Well, at 40 a set with free shipping, a Xentec 35 watt kit is pretty cheap too. But you can't argue with the price for DDM tuning 55 watt sets.

oh cool. i didn't know they did free shipping. ddm doesn't. which sucks. but either way it's alot cheaper than alot of hid companies like futurevisionhid.com. (not dissing them)

what u gunna do with ur older hid kits? and what number are they?

and if u want something thats cheap and will work decently as sound deadning, this is what i use

i have this on my doors in my truck and in the back where the side pockets are under the window and it helped out my midbass a whole lot, now its not anything like second skin but it does work great for how cheap it is, i just got 1 layer on my truck and its hella solid, ied put some on the midbass's baffle on the back to help it out some

i did this when i took out my factory speaker pod things and made some out of 1/2'' birch plywood, then covered it with that foil tape and sounds killer

Thanks man. I'm keeping my HID kits at least until summer. As far as sound deadening, I'm just going to wait and get either second skin or audiowrap.

As I can't find any aftermarket headlights for my 9000, I'm thinking about getting these headlights, they are for a 1991 honda crx, but I think they'll fit and they have pretty much the same shape, I'll be measuring it out first though.

I know they aren't true projectors, but for under a bill and a half, I can settle for some ebay crap. I just want projectors and a nice clean simple headlight and these do it. I mainly want it because I just fricken hate the lens for my headlights, it's like an inch thick glass that really distorts any color. By the way, I will NOT be hooking up the halos, I just don't think they'd look good on my car at all, especially since only one side lights up.

Haven't had much to do lately, I have no more money to put into the build as of now. No new equipment expected until spring, I need my batteries and amps before I can build my box cuz space is limited. I priced everything and I'm like $4500 away from getting it done, right now it seems like a million away. I have been doing a few things here and there though, like today I picked up a new DMM.

I had known for a while that my old DMM was off by a couple volts when testing batteries, so I had theorized that the voltage gap would grow exponentially, as I could tune an amp with it and still turn it a little louder on the head unit with no toasty coil smell. I bought a new one to test it out, I was shocked, here, I'll show you.

Plugged it into the wall socket, OFF BY 23 VOLTS!!!

Needless to say, I am glad I bought a new one.

I also got my box designed up, but I'm not done yet. I want to fiberglass the shape of my back hatch cover to maximize space available in the back for when I build this. as you can imagine, I will have no cargo room, this will take up almost all of the space, save for the sides where I shall be putting my batteries.

Here's what I came up with roughly. Box is for 2 15" DC XLs, it will be 6 cubes net, tuned to 30hz, 28hz if I can free up enough space to fit the longer port.

Hmm, not too much going on lately for my build, other than planning. I did manage to land a job (go me) but it barely leaves me any play money after I pay the bills. So I am looking to try to get a second job, or just a better job that's full time.

Anyways, I'll let you all in on my revised plans.

Sub box plan - I will be removing the factory rear speaker locations and building my box so the top of it will essentially be a new rear deck, kind of like my last box, except there will be no more 6x9 mounts on the sides. The box is not going to be just a box, I will be using MDF and fiberglass to mold it to the shape of the sides of the cargo area to gain every bit of volume out of my available space. Box plans are between 6 and 6.5 cubes net, with 120 square inches of port total.

Amp racks and battery bank - These will be in the space in the cargo area behind the sub box. There will be a fan setup to keep air moving for them, I may even make a ventilation system for the amps, but we'll see.

Mids and highs - As you may know, there are a total of 48 drivers for my mids and highs. 16 6.5 inch midbass, 16 4 inch midrange, and 16 1 inch tweeters.

Tweeters: 1 in each A-pillar, 1 in each side of the dash, 4 in each front door, and 2 in each back door.

Midrange: 2 in each pillar, 2 in each side of the dash, 2 in each front door, and 2 in each back door.

Midbass: 6 in each front door, and 2 in each back door.

Alright, I didn't get much accomplished today as I have to work and it was rather cold out today. Go figure, the day I can work on my build it gets fricken cold out... Anyway, I got some supplies and started some prep work.

Got the garage cleaned enough to move the car to the middle. It looks much better there.

Then I went to Menards and bought this.

2 sheets of 3/4 MDF.

Had to clean a winter's worth of crap out of the back.

Cleaned out, but not done.

There we go, now we have some more room.

What will be going on will be involving some of this.

I need to get some more matting and resin to do my box and my doors. Otherwise the prep work is beginning. I need to get 12 cubes gross out of the cargo area, and still leave room for batteries and amps. Wish me luck.
