superchargedamd
just wondering if two speakers that are the same (ie watts size brand stroke) but the ohms are diffrent can be used on the same amp in a series or parallel config.thanks Jensen head unit (junk to start) cadence 5.25 dash re tweets Candence ultra drive amp(mids+highs) rockford fosgate 75hd RESX18D2 X4 subs wired to 1.3 final REBUILDING AS WE SPEAK
Guest
dont do it. the one thats 2 ohms for example will get more power than the 4 ohms one.
cqtama
ok basically, the lower the ohm load the more power the amp will put out. so for example a 15" sub on a 1000 watt amp will see more power and be louder wired to 1 ohm than if it were wired to 4 ohms (assuming said amp is 1 ohm stable). however, the lower the ohm load the stronger your cars electrical setup will need to be since it takes power to make power and without enough current going to the amp you can damage equipment. EDIT: don't use speakers with different ohm loads they need to be the same or you will fsu R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
