Recommended Posts

So my bros, David, Carlos and I recently made a new box for my 15" XLs. On top of that we took out the Memphis Mojo and put in an American Bass VFL 500.1.

New box is 6.1 cubes @35 hertz with two 4" tube ports forward. subs back inverted

Drove 260 miles(round trip) to meet Rusty and pick up my two DC lvl 4 XL 15"s

That's pretty tight..not gonna lie, lol. Did you have slot port before? Would you prefer aero's to slotted?

Yes, i had a slot port before. I remade the box, the other one after i checked my measurements for the 100th time i realized were wrong and it was tuned to about 42 hertz. this box is now at 35. It moves a lot more air, and sounds cleaner. but sounds completly different then the slot. I havent decided which i like better yet. I still have my old box just in case.

If i can get my hands on some 6" ports then i will probly try it. I agree it didnt seem like much port area, but it moves air a bit better then the old setup

I agree after making a slot port for my 3 15" type Rs, I realy should have made more port area, i have 108sq in i should have gone close to 130-140

take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey
