DylanH
haha... pwned.. you could get the six subs at 2.66 ohms.. or 6 ohms... or .6667.... I would suggest the more expensive REs... much more quality sub... What kind of am are you getting/do you have? If its a shitty amp than go with the cheaper subs, if its a decent quality amp go with the REs... Thats my opinion... Right now I have an Alpine MRP-M1000 amp which I'm thinking about keep for awhile/till I have enough money for something bigger and better Quote http://www.youtube.c...er/SmallTownSPL 2002 Chevy Blazer Substage: Shhh, its a secret Mids and Highs: Stock-Going to change soon Amp:MTX 92001 Wire:1/0 Welding cable Electrical:Stock http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 I hope she was meaning that to you. But would it be louder? I mean each sub would have more power and they could be in a bigger sealed box/maybe small ported. BJD3
how do you have 1000+ posts, and not know how to figure out an ohm load? Eh, I'm close to 1k as well and I still can't do more than 4 coils. Though I do know where to go to find the answer. lol Quote Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. DylanH
I guess its just one thing I never learned because I just used this whenever I needed to know how to wire something because I haven't had to wire 6 subs yet. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=22 Quote http://www.youtube.c...er/SmallTownSPL 2002 Chevy Blazer Substage: Shhh, its a secret Mids and Highs: Stock-Going to change soon Amp:MTX 92001 Wire:1/0 Welding cable Electrical:Stock http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 I hope she was meaning that to you. Though I do know where to go to find the answer. lol Its pretty easy math when all the subs are the same ohm load. in parallel its just divide the resistance of the coil by the number of coils. two 4 ohm coils- 2... 4/2=2 three 4 ohm coils- 1.33.... 4/3=1.33 four 4 ohm coils- 1...4/4=1 five 4 ohm coils- .8...4/5=.8 series wireing is just adding the coils together two 4 ohm is 8...4+4=8 three 4 ohm is 12...4+4+4=12 four 4 ohm is 16...4+4+4+4=16 just remember that and it gets real easy Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970

fritosaregood
I get that, but my problem is more what happens in series-parallel setups. its still the same. you just have to do the steps separately like a you want 4 dual 2 subs to get a 1 ohm load. All together you have eight 2 ohm coils first series the coils of each sub together. so you have 2+2=4 for each sub. so now you have four 4 ohm coils, Parallel all of those together and its 4/4= 1 ohm. make sense?
