99s10dowork Posted July 29, 2010 Report Share Posted July 29, 2010 So my dad wanted me to ask around and see if anyone new about how big of an alternator he would need to run a bucket truck/ cherry picker optimally. They are Ford F-450 7.3 liter diesels. The booms are run entirely on electricity and the trucks only came with a 190 amp alternator. DC Power has a 270A (is this enough juice) for $599.00 and he needs 7 of them but he doesnt want to get them and have to do something else in a couple of months. Also he doesnt want to do multiple alternators. Any help would be appreciated.
