So my dad wanted me to ask around and see if anyone new about how big of an alternator he would need to run a bucket truck/ cherry picker optimally. They are Ford F-450 7.3 liter diesels. The booms are run entirely on electricity and the trucks only came with a 190 amp alternator. DC Power has a 270A (is this enough juice) for $599.00 and he needs 7 of them but he doesnt want to get them and have to do something else in a couple of months. Also he doesnt want to do multiple alternators. Any help would be appreciated.

working on the cash...balling on a budget sucks. thanks for the comments...22's are in the near future...want something with 5 spokes and a 4-5 inch lip...finding that for under about 2500 is damn near impossible. also thinking about a blowthrough, but if i do that i will go all out not a weenie system like ive been piddling around with...wish i still had my extended cab, but i like my full size too. again thanks for the comments it makes what we do worth while!

True didnt think about that. aluminum is much lighter! alot to take into consideration.

Does size matter? whats would be the difference in 2", 2.5", and 3" voice coils when it all boils down to it? Is there a huge difference?

try porting what you have... but the customer service alone will make you want to go sundown.
