Add a bassline to a song

How do you add your own bassline to a song? I'm guessing you can do it through through Audacity? Any help would be great

Download Fruity Loops, kinda hard to figure out but once you do you can do it

Thnaks man. I got FL 9 the Studio Producer version off of a torrent but i'm not going see how to use it till tomorrow.
