there should be an output on the back like TAPE OUT or VCR OUT for example

These amps provide a good bang for the buck in the watts per dollar category. For home use you'll quickly see that most home theater receivers do not provide enough voltage output through the RCAs to get the pro-audio amps going. There are some home theater receivers that do, but they are the top of the line models. One that comes to mind it this one by denon. Bad Mofo An alternative would be to use a modest pre-amp style receiver and use line drivers to up the signal from the pre-amp to the pro-audio amps. Get ready though good pre-amps with HDMI imputs are still expensive. Here is an inexpensive line driver to go from RCAs to XLR which pro-audio amps use. Line Driver

At the very bottom of options you can buy a nice receiver with a sub out. Connect your mids and highs to the receiver and use the line driver on the sub out. Hook up the the Crown 2500 between the line driver and sub and there you have it. Hope this helps. By the way, that last option is what I'm doing.
