Old Rockford Fosgate P3's

Im considering buying 2 older style Rockford 15" P3s from a friend.. Both the subs have cracks on the cones, not sure what from, but they still bump really hard when paired with 1000wrms..

Questions is should I buy them for $90? Is their anyway to recone them? Otherwise I'm gonna invert both the subs and play them inverted in a box, or would that not work either?

I personally wouldn't waste money on cracked subs who knows how long they would last

how big of a crack? my p2 had a crack and i just covered it up with some CA glue. works fine.

I don't know if they are cracked, or just like sun cracked u know?

They don't look like deep cracks, just small ones .. Like how leather cracks in a car after years ..

Ohh ya got ya well 90$ seems like a great price for both of them if you seen them in action and know they hit and you know the crack is not feel idk why not haha

Well i have seen them in action, he had them wired on a Kicker 850.2 in a sealed box and those things Slammed hard as hell ..

Not sure if they are worth getting rid of, or why he is deciding to sell them, that is my only concern ..

i still dont kno why rf made those type of cones, its a cone with a big ass plastic dust cap

ive seen a few of em at best buy that was broke all to shit and still work

its just a dust cap, kinda how mtx does there subs too, make it more of a cleaner cone look or w/e, i say for $90 go ahead, if all else fails u could take the cap off and reglue it and put it back on

unless its like these then i dunno wtf to do

but like the old ass p1's with the black plastic dustcap cone cover deal thing u could fix it but i dunno how the newer cones are

u can see in this pic what im talking about, u can see the cone and then the i guess second cone or dustcap cover piece over top of it

Yea and Ill just build a $20 sealed enclosure for them to see what they sound like ..

If all fails then I sell them with the enclosure for $125 ..

I think they can most likely be repaired, but idk

No it's not like those subs .. It looks plastic looking like you described
