Mr. Yuk Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 depending on how the top is attached you could maybe peel the fabric back and pop the top off and change the entire port. it looks waay too narrow to me like most prefabs are. you probably are getting quite a bit of port noise out of that thing.

I lol'd a lot of people don't use a single screw for their box besides to hold the subs in. i have built a few with no screws. some good wood glue will hold it just fine. but i have had a prefab that was held together with hotglue or some shit and it was leaking air everywhere. op - obviously if making the port longer lowers tuning, making it shorter would raise tuning. shrinking the box also raises tuning so the only other way to lower tuning is to cut a hole in the box and add another box to the hole to make it bigger lol If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. What if he made the actual chamber of the box smaller? Like glue some mdf to the inside of the box. Would making the volume smaller and not changing port lower tuning? More port area ratio vs volume? I just thought since it would be more port to box volume would make the tuning lower. I still vote just making the port longer. It would be the easiest. Good thinking but making the port area bigger raise tuning and op if you can, build a new box because lengthening the port won't help but make the airspace smaller and your f3 will be rather high again..
