80z HP didn't change it. On the way to harbor frieght to get a DMM now.

oh, i didnt mean that would help your problem. its an SQ issue and something that could save your speakers. they are not made to play 60hz at the same power to give you loud mids. it would be easy to bottom them out and/or distort them.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

So future reference to all and some of you probably know. Kappas are not 4 ohm at the head unit like they claim. At the crossover +,- input is a solid 2.5ohm after DMM leads are taken out. At the head unit (about 4 foot of 12g wire is only about 2.7-9. I don't know how to test with the radio on and with the rise that it gives but I'm doubting it rises a ohm and a half. So in my conclusion infinity Kappas are 3 ohm component sets.

...you DO realize that infinity made some of their speakers 2 ohms because of the small 22+ gauge wire that goes from the speakers to the headunit increases resistance close to 4 ohms right? thats the whole purpose of that design.

I can understand that but with the ability to run them at 90rms it's always been unclear their actual impendance so now I know and don't have to ask any more :)

put them on a 2ch amp at 2 ohms each channel, will do fine.

As to using shit wiring to cause impedence rise, thats basically asking for a fire.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

I'm not planning on changing to small wire. I am getting a amp for them eventually. Just getting money right and my car ready to get my build done right now. Doing my suspension next weekend so fun fun.
