NDMstang65 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Fs contrary to popular belief has absolutely nothing to do with frequency response, regardless of what anybody wants to tell you . Look at Vas...which is suspension compliance or how 'stiff' the spiders are. The lower the number is the stiffer the suspension, the higher..the looser. Qts is fine to look at..but you don't want a really Low Qts style design in most "SQ" based installs. You're going to look for mid Q as previous stated around .4...or you're going to have peaks that you'll have to EQ out. Keep in mind it is still important to look at BL and the BL^2 / RE number to determine true motor strength as this has everything to do with transient response and 'snappiness' of the woofer...if you don't have force it's going to flop around like a dead fish.
