davewms9605
Im really thinking of doin sumthin different THIS time. My question is, when doin a wall, how do you determin port size? Since a wall is so much bigger than a box!! Im thinking of walling off my new toy, a 1993 BMW 318is for my next project and was looking at 2 Audioque SDC2.5 15's. Would it be worth it? hdorre
Many people put a big box in the back seat and either make trim panels or fiberglass the box to the car. Therefore, calculating would be the same Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
davewms9605
Hmmmm, didnt think of it that way. But still, as I look at some the build logs, they actually are building the wall inside the car too and them things look hella huge!! And not to mention the ports! They almost as big as the damn wall!! If I use just 2-15's, would that be sufficient enuff for a wall in my car? bassl0va
2 15"s is fine. As long as you can get about 4 cubes after displacement. I don't know about using SDCs, aren't they relitivly low power subs? Not saying a wall has to use super powerful subs, but generally they do. Yeah they are, but I dnt have cash flowing out my ears and I definately aint trying to spend my life savings on a system either!! But I do want to do sumthing I never done before and a wall fits right in!! Thats why I said 2 SDC 15's! If not, whats the next best thing? I could probably save up about 1500 bucks, could I build a nice wall within that budget? And thts subs, amps, wires, batts and so forth. hdorre
Yeah, with that budget you could do a wall. You won't have enough for your frontstage though Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
bassl0va
Depends what you have now, you might already have half the stuff you will need. But yeah, from scratch it could easily get over 1500 if everything was going to be new. davewms9605
Well, I already have a front stage from my old car and thts 4-6.5s and 4 pioneer tweeters so far!, I got plenty of 1/0 and I can get a few more things like some 4inch mids and tweets in the A pillars. I jus need subs, wood, a good amp for the subs and some batts.. bassl0va
Cool! you will probably be able to get some great subs and amp/s for 1500 then. What brand/model would you be interested in for subs/amps?
