Sup, I just ordered a SA-8, and I'm getting ready to build a box, but I can't chose between slot and aero ported. I want the best SQ, not really looking for SPL. Also, 9ply birch, or 1" MDF? I've heard great things about birch, but I've only worked with MDF.

I also heard that you can feed around 1000rms to one if you add epoxy in-between the spider and basket gap? Can I do that for daily use, or is that for burps/comps only?

i wouldnt throw 1k daily at it. Its only rated for 400rms so keep it a little closer to that rating. Put it in a 1 cube box with a slot port and tune it low. you will be happy

Im helping my girl build a box for two at the moment

im doin 2 cubes tuned to 32 hz with 3/4" MDF and Glass..

So roughly .6-1 FT^3 tuned from 29-34hz with roughly 12in^2 of port per cube

i have an audiopipe 1800 right now, and it's been pretty good to me. i'm thinking about upgrading, but i don't want to spend crazy money on an amp.

it's going in an 01 chevy s-10. reg. cab, so i'm going to put it on the floor or something since the box is only going to be 1 cube.

if you want 600 daily on it i would do what everyone else is saying and use .6 cubes ported at 30-32hz. If you set your amp up properly you will be fine

EDIT: All in fiberglass tho no wood, just MDF for supports while making
