Starion82 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 I've seen that people have posted that amps can be damaged on low voltage or voltage drop, when i had my Rockford t2500-1BD running a Mach 5 audio SPL 15 with a 3000wrms handling, the battery indicator would drop to low and show red, before i had a chance to upgrade my power in my system, the dust cap had blown off , could this of damaged my amp? with the low voltage it would sometimes cut out. I know that low ohm loads are bad for amplifiers and it is safer to run them on higer loads, i was running the sub on a 1 ohm load.

You should have come here first but now you know, you should upgrade the electrical. Did you set your gains right? That is also important. Starion82 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 I didn't have a multimetre handy at the time but i'm in the progress of a full rebuild. removing all wires, servicing alternator, upgrading to 0 gauge all round and installing fuses along the batteries and amplifier.
