Center Console Build For My Acura Integra 1999

Recommended Posts

I forgot, I plan on adding some kind of framing for my Zune that will sit "Flush looking" inbetween the two speakers. Im still trying to decide if i want it to be angled towards the driver so i can see it better, or just lay symmetrical and flat.

Well other options on that "blank spot" instead of the x-overs:

Any of these could be setup in/on plexi and backlit w/ neon:

Something that says "Texas Tech" and a cool logo

Some big Acura emblem like off an MDX, or other Acura or "Integra" sign/symbol

Any nickname or shop name (if you consider yourself "a shop" i.e. SMD or AudioInnovations etc)

Any BRAND loyalty sign/symbol you may have Pioneer/kicker/fosgate etc.

Theres a few Ideas -just start doodling and get creative with it-I can't give ya all the answers w/out sayin "hey put: Designed by LSN2meBoom916 of Sacramento on it!" :D

And Progress pics, progress pics, progress pix damnit!

Just to show it, there is a dip right here, something i dont really like. I had to sand it at the edge there where it meets the factory center console inorder to make it look flush, so it created a dip

okay I am having some trouble: in the 67th post, my 5th and 6th picture on there. That center part that comes in contact with the factory console, I am trying to sand it so the entire thing is level/even. Ill post pics up later tongiht, this thing is pissing me off, i wish i could do it over again, now that this thing is winding down and i could probably do the same thing with less work, more accuracy, and less imperfections. A plan+experience/knowledge of what you are doing makes a huge difference. LSN you know if i could fit an amp under my passenger side seat, it would be the T600-4 mini series if that matters.

yes you can fit an amp there-I used to have a Soundstream Reference 604 4ch (pretty long) under my driver seat but it stuck out about2" or so-prolly just cuz I am only 5'5'' and have my seat forward a bit.

I'd say it'd fit fine as long as you dont slide the seaat back carelessley you shouldnt scratch it up.

Just trying to make that "curve" part perfectly flush against the plastic factory center console part.

I decided i am going to make something to hold my zune and it will rest in between/above the tweeters.

I also have to find a good grounding point under my passenger seat

Sorry LSN i know i didnt post pictures i took pictures and i really dont have any reason why i didnt post them i guess i was feeling too lazy.

It is way too cold to be living in Texas right now, i have to put on these extremly bright/hot lgihts in my garage and i also have to have the cars parked in the garage to keep it as warm as possible. This also helps with the rage body filler, it makes it easier to work with.

No worries bro-I been feeling the winter lazy bug myself.

Tryin to get stuff done in the cramped garage is tough so i feel ya.

Lookin good still.

Looks like you been payin attn and it's SHOWING.

My only "concern" would be that it looks like a lotta filler and not much glass underneath but thats to be expected on a 1st try.

The more comfortable you get with the materials the less you will have to rely on the filler.

Keep it up man, I like the idea about the Zune too, should be cool.

Hey LsN i got a question. Eventually i am going to have a couple amps in my car, for the speakers and then the eventual subwoofers. I dont want to invest in battery terminals. I am thinking of getting a distribution block, preferablly fused, and just doing ONE run of zero gauge from teh positive battery post through the firewall, to the inside of the car, which would meet up to the fused distribution block. Does that sound like an alright plan?

Do they make fused distribution blocks that have a zero gauge input and 2 zero gauge outputs (atleast) If not i suppose i could do 4 gauge and just try to make that wire as short as possible.

Send me in the right direction here if im totally lost please

thanks

The only reason i am opposed to gettig ew battery post teminals is because i do not want to mess with the factory wiring

Well "in general" unless ur talkin bout runnin some SERIOUS juice(more than 1200rms sub and 600rms mids), you wont need anything over a 4ga to each amp...but overkill is better than underkill for sure.

As far as "investing" in batt terminals, they are less $$ than the glass supplies ur using on the console so I wouldn't stress on it too much.

Also-Stock setup on an import is "rings over a common pos(+) post so you shouldn't need to mod it too much if at all, unless u go with a "raw cable input" block at the batttery.

Here's a pic of how mine's setup at battery (although I do have an aftermarket Stinger SP1000 which has diff posts)

As far as options on dist blocks there tonns like u mentuoned-here are a few:

1/0ga in 2-4ga out..could prolly squeeze a 2ga out.

Here's a wierd one-

1/0ga in and 2 1/0ga out...

Not fused but might help..
