Texas Tech
So I have been moving so slowly, mostly due to things i want to do everyday, like hanging out with friends, working out and little things like errands and yard/pool work. Well Here is what I have so far. It is going to have 3 of the 4 in. MB Quart Q series speakers and 2 MB Quart tweeters. I will explain some things along the way through the pictures. Here are some pics of what i have done.CA Glue is awesome. I deleted some unnecessary pics because this isnt the design anyways Alright here is something I had to do. I had to make the center console so that it met with the dash part where my radio is and A/C controls. I Fiberglassed the edges so i could get an exact replica so it will fit like a glove. tweeter placement. I know it looks way different for the angles and such but its really not. Just angle of hte picture with the angle of the tweeters. Housing for my shifter knob Here is what i had to do to make this fit in the "center console" area. I had to cut the base of the wood like that. I do have some things to fix, and more to do. I am about 80% done with making the framing of it. Tommorow I will have pics of it in the car and everything so you know exactly whats going on. One thing that i did not incorporate yet into it is cupholders. Still thinking on that one. I just dont know where to place them. Baylor University Accounting
Texas Tech
today i am going to try to fix some of the flaws, hopefully it will take me only a couple hours or so.I dont think ill make any real significant progress today. I might try to make flush rings for the tweeters. What do you think? Baylor University Accounting
LSN2meBoom916
Looks like it has po-tential. Kinda hard to say till ya start throwin glass on it. You know I have a 97 LS 2dr myself so some of he shapes are lookin familiar. I'll be tuned in for sure and I'll gladly offer any input I can give, and hopefully GP2K2 will chime in with the "expert glasser" tips. GET CRACKIN ON IT SUCKA! Texas Tech
I forgot to add, and LSN2meBoom916 you will know what im talking about. But the factory center console was 2 pieces that connected, and so far this is just the front piece that is in front of the E-brake. The 2nd piece, that i have no even started on, is the piece that works "around" the E-brake and has the arm rest part. Texas Tech
i changed the design, and finished the framing today. I will put the pics up tonight when i get home. I changed it to only 2 speakers, in the same location, but i made new rings to make it look flush. You will see though. Texas Tech
Hey so I decided the speakers would look stupid with out a flush ring, so that would require more space, so i had to go down to 2 speakers. I also worked on the part where it attaches to my "dash" part. You will see. This is what it is now. pics of the new mounting, with flush rings. Right side attaching to the dash part. left side attaching to the dash part and the middle attaching to the dash part. tweeters are in the same location. tommorow I am going to make some easy modifications, nothing noticable at all. And then if i can find my fabric, it will be wrapped. Where do you think the best spot to start attaching and wrapping the fleece would be?Start from the front and make my way towards the back by the E-brake. Or start in the middle where the shifter is, wrap that part and work outwards towards both ends? Baylor University Accounting
Texas Tech
well, i wrapped it today. There were some minor wrinkles in some places, but nothing the fiberglass or filler wont take care of. Battery on camera died. I have fiberglassed about 3/4 of it. I will take pics when the battery is charged. I dont know if i am going to finish fiberglassing today or just do it tommorow. But Damn sanding is going to be a btich Baylor University Accounting

I can tell ya, unless it's all planned out really well, wrapping it in material and glassing it so it looks smooth without too much mudd/filler is some of the hardest stuff IMO. Keep them pics comin.
