fox_racin4
alright... im stuck between a rock and a hard place im going to be building a new box not sure what i should do i like my lows but i wanna put up a half decent number i really want to do a 150+ but i would have to tune around 50hz to do so i know i can do a 146 @ 32hz and ive done a 147 @ 46hz but the 146 @ 32hz sounded much louder to the ear should i tune low and do a lower number or tune higher and do a higher number?! Skullz
Unless your strictly doing comps with it id tune lower for daily bumping use and try to improve from there. Try some different sizes of enclosures with different size ports and see which one can yield the best score, not saying its cheap but its really the only way to narrow down the path to go, would probably be best to try using pvc ports for ease of switching sizes along with lengths. fox_racin4
that is also another option! forgot to put them but im not sure i have enough room becasue of the way my trunk has to be set up i have 4 batts in the trunk, 2 of which are behind the box so i only have 25" deep 37 wide and 15 tall is really the biggest i can go Quote 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
trevorb9
well i have limited room as well ( 37w 15t 25d) i have 4.3 cubes @ 45hz now and i peak at 35 and 46hz my car has peaked in low to mid 30s with EVERY box ive had no matter what i tune it to as well im only doing the bassrace 139.9 class for the comps i make it to as well if your car peaks in the low 30's to mid i would tune to that.Best to tune to your cars resonance frequency to get the most out of your woofer at that specific frequency, and since yours is low your lucky! tune to 30hz and you wont be disappointed. Tuning does not matter that much, its more about the environment the woofer is in.. Skullz
Have you tried sealing trunk off with subs and port firing forward yet or just don't want to go down that road just yet? Skullz
Another thing to do is to seal as much inside the car as you can, meaning your deadener completely covers the inner door panels so no air can escape along with the back panels.
