Bass Knob

So i hooked up my new amp today and everything. And put the new bass knob on that i got with it cause its better than the old kicker one i have. And it wont work. How do you get it to work? The bass and all still works it just i have to turn the subwoofer output on my hu to hear my subs and i want to do that with the knob not that hu.

Is your knob universal or is it made for your amp? You can't use a Sundown bass knob on a AudioQue amp, for example.
