Lexus ISF vs Modded Lexus IS350 (drag strip video)
memphisBred replied to meade916's topic in Vehicles In Motion
He had street radials too. There's definitely factory freaks and disappointments. Not every car is going to be the same. That's nice to be able to drive an 11 sec car withe headers and radials. -

We have three locals with them. Not sure on the years and difference between them. I've seen 12.8, 12.9, and 13.1. I have a time slip against the 13 sec one. He was a young guy at the track for the first time so I wouldn't hold that against the car. By the way I'm not trying to bash the car. I love them. If I wasn't a GM/LSx fan boy and hell bent on the CTS-V, I'd like to own one. My initial statement pertains to all makes and models. I own a cammed TBSS. I remember when I got it and read it ran high 13s stock. The track is similar to the term lab. It can really hurt your feelings if your expectations are high. -

The IS-F may run mid 12s in perfect conditions and great air, but they're running high 12s, low 13s more times than not. Anytime you see a listed 1/4 mile time for a car that's on a track with good prep, good temp, good da, and an experienced driver. You see it all the time at the track when guys bring their stock cars expecting to run a time they saw on the Internet only to feel down afterwards. When they don't take all the variables into play. Stock naturally aspirated cars are affected by weather conditions more than the modded or forced induction ones. -

researching
memphisBred replied to Go-N-Def's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
When you get below 12.6 resting voltage it's smart to charge. Charging the battery once a week/couple weeks will provide a longer life for the battery. They are perfectly fine for everyday starting. What size battery can you fit under your hood? XS Power's site has a guide for which batteries fit certain vehicles. Just enter the necessary vehicle info. -

What kind of vehicle do you have? They don't work on all vehicles. -
Is My S1200 Dead?
memphisBred replied to OrionStang's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
That's the voltage when you go out in the morning? That's pretty terrible. Mine in my vehicle have always rested between 12.9-13.1. Same goes for the D975 in my granddad's camaro. Sounds like a drain somewhere or dead/dying battery. -
Does this mean you got the software to work out for you? Hope so man. And sorry for the confusion on my part.

Need to talk to someone
memphisBred replied to TylerParrish's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
Tyler your quickest and best bet is probably going to be emailing them. Or even calling them. I always got quicker responses by emailing compared to pm'ing on SMD. -
Thanks glad it got there safe

dc 7.5 clamped
memphisBred replied to stompum2deth's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
You can't learn how without asking questions/researching. Someone who credits SMD for their knowledge like you do, should understand you gotta ask questions sometimes. Granted this "power under 1 ohm" topic is everywhere on the site. Just not specifically for the 7.5k. -
He raises the dB level of his songs to the point just before clipping. Sometimes there is clipping in the mids or even a soft clip for a fraction of a second in a song, but for the most part, the songs are completely clean and safe to play, as long as you set the gains accordingly. Edit: and that's just a very basic and simple explanation of what he does and may not be the best way to explain it.
