bigslim
i've got two new 12's that i need to build a box for. my question is is it more important to have a port as big as possable or have the subs as far away from the port as possable. heres my plan for the box, 34" x 17" x 28" with a slot port 9" wide and 17.5" long the total port area is 1.4 cubic inches. with this size port there will only be about an inch between one sub and the side wall and an inch between the other sub and the port wall. will this be ok and what are the pros and cons between having a really big port and having the subs as far away from the port as possable? Texas Tech
well here is my knowledge shared, about the comment: having the port as big as possible. You dont want to make the port as big as possible, there is a general rule of thumb that i was told which is you want 12-16" of port area per cubic foot.
