relay question

i recently purchased two led strips to put under my dash. my question is would it be possible to run the strips in parallel and then have a relay connected to my remote turn on wire or is the voltage of that wire too low?

I'm about to run a relay from my remote turn on to three amps... im sure you can do the same for some led strips. my underdash leds are wired to the ignition wire that worked fine
