Alright so i have a jeep cherokee with a 220 amp high output alt from iraggi. I also have a 1800 kinetik bat up front. I also have done the BIG 3 but more like body grounds not frame. (could that be it) I DO NOT have any other batts in at this time. But im running a aq 2200d at 2 ohms and when i idle my voltage drops. Is this because i have no other batts?

I'm assuming your alt puts out around 135 amps at idle. Around 50 of the amps are used for the car itself. That leave you with about 85 amps (850 watts rms at 14.4 volts). If gains are set correctly, you'll be asking for about 1700watts (because of efficiency). Adding another battery could help.

There is a few tests you can do to find out what is going on. And a few things I need to know to help you out.

You have any drop when you rev it or hold the throttle at 2k rpm?

What are you playing when it drops? Try playing a sin wave at your boxes peak frequency. See what your drop looks like then.

Where is the amp grounded and what size wire you running to the amp? What size fuses you using? Is your drop at the alt, battery or amp? Or all of the above?

I do not have much drop at all when i rev it at 2k. Mainly when it drops is when a high note hits.

I am not familiar with sin waves. Have never done one. The amp is grounded underneath the carpet in the rear hatch area (body). Everything in the jeep is rockford 1/0 guage. 1 100 amp fuse.

I kinda live in a bad area so i never blast around my house witch means i havent clamped anything while is playing.

How long is the ground on the amp? How are all of your setting? Does the clip light start to blink on the aq gain knob when you get this drop?

A sin wave is what us spl guys use when we burp our subs for max db, it is one continuous note that doesn't change you can find out alot about your electrical when you play sin waves.

Id say its no longer then 3 feet. well my gain is over half. subsonic in the center. bass boost is same as the gain. And yes the clipping light does appear often. The reason i turn it up and the light comes on is because its so quit for a 2200d fi BTL 18.

Well for starters, can you make that ground less then a 18 inches long? Try rolling the bass boost all the way off and it should sound about the same and not have the drop issues.
