ch0sen Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 well, parts express sells those for the 6 inch woofers for 32 bucks, so you are getting a deal, i woulnd't mix the 6 inchs woofers with the 8 inchs, not worth it imo, and at a rated 100rms each set your low pass, to around 100 hertz My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/

kingsuv Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 I use both the 6 and the 8 in my setup, and with the right amount of processing they do very well. I would strongly suggest running them in an active processing setup. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

kingsuv Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Active means that you are actively controlling each driver typically with a digital EQ of some sort. Passive means that you will use a preset crossover device. Like the ones that come in a 2way component set. From my experience, a passive xover really limits you in setting up these drivers successfully. They are pretty efficient in certain bands and can get out of control very easily. This is why you will hear people say they sound like crap just like all other pro drivers, when in fact they have just been set up wrong Designing, building, and shipping boxes.
