TERMLAB or AUDIOCONTROL

the only shop in panama city that has a termlab there computer is down an another shop has a audiocontrol meter i know the TL is the meter of choice but how much difference is there if i go get metered????? or does it depend on how much abuse the mic has had

roughly 6 db's is my guess, but theyre probably all different

well as far as i know, you can adjust a "gain" knob on the audiocontrol so you can put up anywhere from (exaggerated) 120db to 180db. the termlab (not counting the k-factor) has no way to adjust what decibel level you can play.

yeah. dont quote me on what i said but its what ive found out over the years. as for k-factor, i have absolutely no idea

last time on a tl i did a 149.9 with one 15 an 2000 watts now i have the same 15 different box an smaller amp an just wanna see the difference it sounds almost the same but to close to tell an if the audiocontrol is that far off it may not be worth doing

K-factor, I think, I can't remember for sure, that it is to match the sensor to the rest of the TermLab equipment. http://onlinecaraudio.co.nz/?p=productsMore&iProduct=880&sName=term-lab-db-tl-tm such as this, the sensor is a 183db one, so you set the k-factor to 183, I think.

if you dont get it tl'd no one will take your score seriously. id wait for the tl to be up and running. how is there only 1 shop with a tl in your area?

It's not like us ryan, there's gotta be a lot of areas in the mainland where there are only a couple of shops within a large radius that only push JL and other brands with a high profit margin lol.
