craniumcrackinbassv2 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 i have a 15''l7 running off a stock battery, a week after i bought the system the battery started leaking acid. does this have anything to do with not having a capacitor? if not what else could cause this....

It might have been a pre-existing condition on the battery. And having a cap wouldnt have benefited you in any way!! And it definately would not have caused your battery to leak acid!!! Members please feel free to chime in on this one cause I would like to know as well! thank you for the hospitality man, and its only 1 1/2 years old. i bought another just incase thought; it's sitting in the trunk because about 2 weeks ago the car died on me because of an acid "overflow", it was everywhere.... once i cleaned it off the car started back up.

No problem man!! But like Skittles said, investing in a sealed agm battery will be a great choice and it'll keep you from having to clean up nasty acid leaks and it will do your system some justice!!
