Zack Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I just setup my sub and amp and i wanted to know what frequency to set my amp at because when i was listening to some songs it could not hit the lows. The freq. range is 40hz-130hz. if it helps, my setup is a rockford fostgate r500-1 amp, alpine SWR-1242D (type r), and a ported enclosure (1.66 cubic ft). I mainly want the sub to be able to hit the lows. Thanks in advance. Scion XD upgrading progress: 20%
Autruche Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 People generally set their low pass filters to 8O - 100Hz and their subsonic filter to about 5 hz under their box tuning. When I set my LPF I use a 100Hz tone and turn the filter down until I can start to hear the tone get quieter. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? chapo123 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 whats your box tuned too.. could be a shitty pre fab tuned to 42hz and that could be why your not hititng lows. i set my lpf to 80 and i set my subsonic to 26hz since im tuned to 33 Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history.
