Hiphonics Brutus 1600 Watt Amp?

Recommended Posts

I just got me a RE Audio SX18 and im lookin for a good amp for it. I liked the specs and the price of the Hiphonics Brutus 1600 watt amp. But I also have heard those are power hungry bastards! I have a stock GMC Sierra alternator with a yellow top optima battery and I also have a 1.2 farad cap running it all. So does this sound like a good amp for my set up or do i need to check something else out? Or is there something that I could add to make this set up work? Im lookin at somethin about 400 and under. Any help would be appretiated!!

not saying hifonics is the best amp out there but it's serves my needs. i have two BXI 1500ds and they slam my RF T2 12s bro. yeh they are a little overrated but they are not that bad. i have two of them and a punch 450.4 in my 2004 expedition .......... i have one yellowtop, 1/0 ga and two 1.0 digital farads. i have no problem with electrical but once i'm back in the US i'm getting an HO anyways. what's the RMS on that sub?
