n8ball2013
More port area? Ports look pretty small for the size box Also..box size doesn't necessarily relate to port/vent size. That's up to the sub..lol while youre at it explain your reasoning behind this too. dwright27
I'm sorry you wasted the cash on that box. A design from someone here will make a HUGE difference in output and have a lot better overall performance. I don't know what your talking about. My box was built to EXACT specs for my subs. I'm sure it's possible to have a cooler looking one but I don't think performance will get much better. Not saying I wouldn't love to have I fiberglass box.lol I'd do more port area as well. I followed the exact specs on the subs for the box. And I know it's obvious a vent is different than a port was just saying that ports look bigger to me. The box is the exact size and a 20 yr vet built this box while reading the manual to my subs. So, I'm not seeing where I went wrong with the box considering it matches what JL calls for down to the T! Further more...just because a two subs call for the same airspace doesn't mean the vents will be the same. But you guys are pros so that should be obvious too. I put my truck on here for reasons outside of people arguing with me. I did my homework before I started this. But...thanks for all the advice! n8ball2013
You didnt answer my questions. how is a port different from a vent? and tell me how the woofer determines the amount of port? here ill answer them for you. a port and a vent are the exact same thing. Different name for the same thing so there is your first bit of misinformation. And a woofer does not determine your port. Sure it plays a factor but its not the deciding factor. Please tell me why you can generally count on a starting point of 16 sq inches of port per cube for a ported box? Oh thats right because its not woofer dependent. You have such an arrogance to your posts and you are not even correct. Sit back and read you just told three of us that we didnt know what we were tlaking about. Three of us who have done 150 plus in a daily driver and two who have done it in an f-150. We arent talking out our ass and dont be so butt hurt that your enclosure is not even optimal for your box. Im willing to bet that thing is extremely peaky.
