Dylank811
I don't remember if I mentioned this, but I did end up getting a Viper alarm on my car to keep my shit where it belongs. I've been working on rerunning all my new amp wire so I'll be posting pictures soon once I get it all finished. Keep the feedback coming, I'm always open to tips/ideas. Here's a question: Unfortunately, 17 feet of power wire was not quite enough for me and I need about another foot. What's a good method of splicing an extension on without losing power flow? Also, I'll be getting two power distributor blocks for my ground/power wires so I can run two amps now. Would it be ideal for me to use 8 AWG wire since my main power/ground wires are 4 AWG? Double the wire, half the size, right? 2004 Ford Mustang GTPioneer DEH-P7200HD head unitMach 460 Factory System Cadence FXA1600.2 Cadence S2W10 Cadence 4 AWG wiring Ported box, 2 cubes, 32 hertz
Dylank811
Stripped out all the crappy wiring. Everything out. Time for a fresh start. Notice my wire for the trunk alarm...why didn't the installer follow the wiring harness? Oh well I don't care. Everything out of the trunk except for the wire. And there's my failed spray job. I tried to use a can of black spray paint that was already empty. This will be the next thing on the to do list. Already got the paint and carpet. The whole from my crappy sub wire...hmm I don't like wholes. A little silicone does the job! My new whole for the new wire. I am aware that I could have done a nut and bolt thing or even buy a real adapter thing for this, but I had to cut cost where I could. Besides, I'm sure this silicone does a fine enough job. The new power wire. I thought the fuse block was pretty! This is what happens when you try to force a screw through thick, non-threaded metal. Lesson learned. Sorry it's so blurry. I just followed the wiring harness to get this through the cabin. Pictures get a little scarce now as I got lazy on the pictures. I found a real nice way to run everything under my dash and clear from my pedals. I had some difficulty getting around my clutch pedal, but I got it done after about an hour with my head in the floorboard and feet on the headrest. RCA's for the subs. I ordered another set of 4 channel RCA's for my speakers as I expect to get a 4 channel amp and might have a deck with 4 RCA outlets at some point. Cleaned up the sub wire ends a little. Much easier to deal with. So much cleaner. I got hung up on this situation, if any of you saw my posts concerning my power distribution. My 17 feet of power wire was about a foot too short to do my plan A. I BARELY was able to get it like this so I could have my distributor block on the accessible side of my amp rack. I wish both blocks could have been set up cleaner, but the bank runs out at some point and I did what I could. Also, I unfortunately had to go Walmart brand with these to save some money. I didn't have quite enough smaller ground wire to put it next to the power, so I made due in a closer location. All the wires...what a mess! Finished product. Can't wait for paint/carpet! 2004 Ford Mustang GTPioneer DEH-P7200HD head unitMach 460 Factory System Cadence FXA1600.2 Cadence S2W10 Cadence 4 AWG wiring Ported box, 2 cubes, 32 hertz

Dylank811
I've had some opportunity to really listen to my system with different music/tuning and I'm highly impressed with the outcome of the amp mids/highs. They just about do the job without the subs! I also unburied a little something about this Denon amp. Turns out it's as nice as I suspected. Also, could anyone share any ideas about why my speakers are "hissing"? It's not super loud, as I can only hear it when the music is quiet. The hissing gets louder with higher volume. I would think it's some noise that's being boosted with the amp. The noise may also be coming from the amp itself. It IS 17 years old, so I wouldn't be shocked.
