LoudNLow931 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Report Posted December 13, 2010 I've got no audio on my laptop, whats going on here? I see the 15's and 18's are in seperate boxes. How is this thing tuned, and whose is it? the 18's are tuned to 28 hz and the 15s are tuned to something higher maybe 40?? the 18's have 1 AQ 2200 each and play like 38 and below the 15's have a AQ 3500 and play above 38 this thing is fucking nasty. it had me shivering from the sheer air movement. the lows it can hit are just amazing. it really is a great setup Yeah it was NASTY! People can hate all day but until they hear it, It dont matter what they think lol. Ford302Redneck Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Well, why are the 15s playing 8hz? If there suppose to have the upper band? Quote
techforce Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Just saw this on the facebook Joe. Frankenstein is back to terrorizing the masses. Great job Rick. Team DBs ftw! As we where leaving the parking lot Big Tony was pulling in and he said there was a state trooper there haha. It never fails... The cops are always called... and everyone always says NO never mix match woofers it will cause phasing issues and cancellation, it that what you have? it doesnt look like it to me. the 15s do seem to move a lil more. hmmmm mite start a new trend. i remember back in highschool ( mid 80s) yea im old. a guy had 2-15s 2-12s and 2-10s in a lil civic 2 door was pretty loud LOL! Exactly! Old school! Quote
techforce Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Well, why are the 15s playing 8hz? If there suppose to have the upper band? They don't have the upper band... they are tuned differently.. that is all... both the 18's and 15's will play from 60hz to 8hz... they just peak at different frequencies... I truly don't see why people think this is a problem, I have been mixing subs since the early 1980's... The only problem I ever had was if they were in same cabinets... Then there was a phase issue... but there is no phase issues and it plays a wide range loudly... The subsonics are all the way down on all amps and the low passes are turned up all the way letting the head unit do the low pass. I hope this helps people understand the setup. I know it is different... but it started as a catch all for what I had laying around the shop... I know alot of you guys don't like this truck and think it is stupid the way I set it up... keep in mind that this truck hardly gets used, it sits at walmart 28 days out of the month as a billboard. But, I promise you that is sounds good for what it is... It's not Trippi's hummer or Steve's Tahoe.. but it will do a 150.4 and I am working on improving that... It's probably the loudest billboard in the US LOL! Edited December 15, 2010 by techforce Quote
