Playa Named Joe
Keep the power clean. Some subs or underrated, meaning you can put more then they are rated for to them. The enclosure can play a big part in power handling. Quote 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
Guest grim83
when i cruz some threads bout subs every now and then the guys say well such and such can take more than the 600w rms. how is that done with out smoken a sub any decent sub can be overpowered to a point, but its something you need to be careful with. Basically the main rules to follow are 1. make sure that the amp is set properly, clean power (a.k.a. little to no clipping) is needed when overpowering 2. make sure the sub can handle it (use quality stuff) 3. use a small box, depending on how overpowered you plan to go will dictate just how small your box should be. 4. pay close attention to the subs while playing, and if you hear anything or smell anything funky shut it down. corteznewbie
so if your usen a ported box would you make it a tad smaller or would a sealed box be used? Quote Team DBs (Driven By sound)
