is be posting pics of thursday. today i have alot of sanding to do and ill be putting some carpet on the box and hooking everything up

the port is 11x11 and the box is 41w and 15h

so 41 x 15 x roughly 35?

whats up im the guy who designed the box and am helping him build it! the box is 9.5 cu. ft after all displacement the box is 41wx15hx38d and is double baffled and supported with 1 1/4" dowel rod box is designed for the aq 3500 since there was no reason to build a bigger box for the smaller amp when he is upgrading soon. as for the roof i told him he will need at least 2 layers of some kind of sound dampener and if we can support it some other way we will try but this is just the start of it!

ah sounds good reason i asked was because your loosing alot of air space on the sides

if you were to build the box up on the sides over wheel wells you can gain alot of cubic foot and go to a port firing into the rear (loudest in exploder i've found)

something along the lines of this

as for roof yeah get on that before it does some damage

other then that build looks good- keep up ze good work

thanks yeah i thought about that but it was his first box so wanted to keep it simple. also hopin to fit a battery/ amp rack about the wheel wells ive never really built a explorer but just tryin to see what we can do and i heard the roofs are like a tin can and if you dont deaden them it will rip or break supports so thats prolly next on the list but he needs batteries first! takes power to make power! i think it will be a nice build when we are all done i jsut wanna see what 2 18's below the window line will do in a explorer!

also all this was done with a circular saw and jigsaw my router wasnt workin and my table saw is still at my old house so it isnt the prettiest on the edges but thats what sanding and carpet are for!Lol

no excuses for not using a table saw and router haha as long as you have a straight edge and take your time your good

as for roof your right haha tin can and broken supports are very common

thanks i just might ive done some research to get a start but i know its just test and tune so once we get all the electrical and support work done then we will see what it will do we did the big 3 and gonna put the biggest batt we can up front just gotta go measure the space and see what we can fit!
