pitchblackcls6 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 hey all, im new to posting, i just have a simple question. does anyone know where i can get a high output alternator for my 2003 acura CL type-s (V6)?????? hardly does anyone make alts for imports, and i love the car to death, but no one makes crap for it!!!!!! ive gotten one quote for 599 for a 200 amp??!?!?! really SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS?? it would be cheaper to cut a hole in my hood and make some brackest for 4 napa alts!!!! i dont understand this. am i asking too much? lol. thanks for the help yall, im just returning from a afghanistan deployment and im tryna bang out like yall!!!
Loudcivic Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 contact mechman on here and get a quote from him. you cant go wrong with a mechman alt. a good alt is not cheap so dont expect to only spend like 250 bucks. good quality alt have a premium price but are worth every penny in the long run 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon...
TeamHT Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 If you have no design ready, you're going to spend a lot more than $600 just trying to fab a quad al bracket...or a triple...or a dual for that matter. It is not always so easy and manufacturers supply a demand. I would have just shipped through the partner on this site mechman. And I wouldn't look at it as $600 for 200 amps. If it is a decent company, 200 amps can go a long way. How much power are you trying to run? Always an option to increase your battery bank. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
