How Big of a Difference Does 200 sq in Of Cone Area Make???

Well i got to make my final decision VERY SOON!!! But i am stuck between 2 DC XL 18's and 4 DC LVL 2 15's(which can be made to handle 600 watts each.) I have around 4800wrms but i would like to get the "Higher End" model rather than the lower end model. The thing that is f**king with my head is the cone area.

Two 18's = 508.94 sq in of cone area

Four 15's = 706.86 sq in of cone area

So like the title, how big of a low end(32-20Hz) difference or gain does it make?

Its all in the box design. You WONT notice a difference if each setup is in their optimum enclosure.

Id choose the XLs though. Even if the Lvl 2s can be made to handle 600wrms each, how does that justify them getting a potential 1200wrms?

thats a pretty big difference... I wish I would have went with 4 15s with my setup I have now instead of 3 18s before, and 2 18s now...

I would go with 4 15s

and it all depends on what you really want, if you want a hairtrick machine, more cone will win almost 99% of the time

4 15" level 2's vs 2 18" XL's? im gonna have to go with the XL's

you should be able to get a 150 out of either setup, but I would go with more cone area, 200 sq inch is almost 1 whole 18 LOL...

now if it was between 3 18s and 4 15s that would be close

2 18s and 4 15s, take the 4 15s all day

Oh i didnt see the lvl 2 part,

I would up to atleast lvl 3s to be remotely comparative or maybe even lvl 4s...

but against the XLs, yeah the XLs would overtake them any day... they are beast subs...
