alpinePounding Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 I have a new alpine mrp2000 powering 2 alpine type x. i have them wired to 2 ohms. The amp isnt up that much and as i turn up the volume from 17 to 18+ it will shut off the subs while the amp is still powered Quote
Guest Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 is the amp getting hot. what sized power wire are you using. what is your voltage dropping to. does the protect light come on. is your ground bolted to a thick piece of metal that has the paint sanded off. Quote

byers319 Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 your volts could be dropping low enough that your amp cuts out due to power loss. you have a volt meter/dmm to check how low it drops? Quote
gwebb Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 we ran a new remote wire and put in a relay to run my sub and highs amp and it solved my problem. i said it wrong when i turn the subs up to far my highs would cut out but subs would stay on my voltage at the remote wire to the highs amp was dropping to 8 or 9 volts cutting my highs out Quote TEAM PULSE CAR AUDIO MECA 150.3 SEALED ON DASH 151.5 FLOOR 152.2
