Dj_Scarface
I want to know whats really wrong with the Hifonics amps. I see every one here down talking all the Hifonics amps & after reading all the post here about the hifi line, yall make them look like shitty azz kmart amps. I want to know whats wrong before I start saving money to buy amps after paint & body. plus with the space & the number of amps im gone end up having, the only other amps i see that will fit in the space, plans, & powering my speakers can take is the sundown. but that gone end up being twice as much money. Because I can find deals on the hifonics hfi amps but not on sundown amps. Plus from what I see I gotta redo all my math for the RMS rating on the amps, cause I see the RMS rating on the sundown 4.ch is less then the hfi 4.ch. This was the plan: (1) hifonics HFi100.2 2.ch = tweeters (2) hifonics HFi100.4 4.ch = {4ch 1] front door & kick [4ch 2] 8"s & rears (2) hifonics HFi2500D mono = [mono 1] two DC level 3 [mono 2] two DC level 3 Not even looking at the 2 mono yet but as the 4ch goes the sundown looks to have lower RMS ratings:: hifonics HFi100.4 = @ 4 ohms: 100w x4 / @ 2 ohms: 200x4 / bridged @ 4 ohms 400x2 (800 max) sundown SAX-100.4D = @ 4 ohms: 100w x4 / @ 2 ohms: 160w x4 / bridged @ 4 ohm 320w x2 (??? max) the sundown apm is bigger then the hifi as well:: HFi100.2 = (L) 17" x (W) 9" x (H) 3" SAX-100.4D = (L) 19" x (W) 10" x (H) 3" Working on my 93' Ford Bronco rebuild:I have:pioneer AVH-P6500Infinity Reference 6032SI frontsInfinity Reference 6832CF Rears Crescendo CZ 6.5 kicks Crescendo 1100.4 (2) DC Audio LvL 4 M2's (1) Juicebox BlackcherryPiece together amps & wiringBout to get:Crescendo Amps Crescendo Mids Crescendo Tweets Sky High Car Audio Wire Rockford Fosgate 360.2 or .3 My Buildhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/97426-93-ford-bronco-rebuild-full-system-body-paint/
pioneer9412
The older HFI line is no where near as good as the new Brz amps imo.
Rebel4055
I haven't messed with either amps but quite a few people like the hifonics brutus line of amps on a budget. __d_a_v_i_d__
i love my brutus line!! i have two brutus 2600s ! i never tried the hifi line. but sumone clamped a 2500 hifi and it only did like 1200rms, thats just messed up ! and a few clamped the brutus and it does rated. so if you go hifonics, go brutus, brz or any other thats Not hifi. other budget amps are the audiopipe, and if you got more cash get a audioque. but i love my brutus. i put 1 thru shit at 9-10v still putting out power lol Chevy Impala Shocker Sigs / TC Sounds 12s Sundown NS-1 | SAX 100.4 Sundown Neos | Dayton Audio Neos ETCCC ETCCC ETCCC My YouTube ---- Subcribe!! Dj_Scarface
So from what im seeing some are just a lil mad that the hifi line is not putting out whats on the box... Also why cant i find any deals on sundown amps? Are they that good that people hold on to them like one off custom stuff? Looking at all the sundown prices I see on the net for a used one, I might as well go new out the box for $50-100 more. Then with the 2500D has a MSRP $1299 , I could buy a used car or go stupid big & power a whole system off a Hifonics XX-Goliath with a few cross overs/processors (just being dumb) Working on my 93' Ford Bronco rebuild:I have:pioneer AVH-P6500Infinity Reference 6032SI frontsInfinity Reference 6832CF Rears Crescendo CZ 6.5 kicks Crescendo 1100.4 (2) DC Audio LvL 4 M2's (1) Juicebox BlackcherryPiece together amps & wiringBout to get:Crescendo Amps Crescendo Mids Crescendo Tweets Sky High Car Audio Wire Rockford Fosgate 360.2 or .3 My Buildhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/97426-93-ford-bronco-rebuild-full-system-body-paint/
PUNKYOU007
Seems like a pretty good reason to be upset. If my amps didnt do rated...I would be pretty pissed. I know a lot of people running Brutus amps. Cant beat em for the money. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. Only problem is that it makes me horny and gives me the rams. So unless yall wanna fight and then have some great make up sex i will leave it home. Guest
you are underestimating the whole "less rms on sundown" thing. here, do this. take the HFi rms ratings and cut them in half. THEN take the sundown 4 channel rms facts, and practically double them. does it look like a fair comparison between cheap and good now?

Playa Named Joe
The Hifonics is overrated while the Sundown is underrated. The Sundown will put out more power then the Hifonics 4 channel. Sundown amps are expensive because they are of great quality and perform very well. 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
