Holden Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 What are some options for me? I'm getting a recone and i have a Kicker 2500 right now thinking of getting a different amp. Now i can get a Dual2 and run my amp at 4Ohms for now and then run a different amp at 1ohm when i get it. Or i can get a Dual1.4 and run the kicker at 2.8ohms for now then run the new amp at .7ohm. Also do amp like to be played at .7 ohms or should i jut deal with the 4 ohm load on the kicker for now to run 1ohm eventually. Autruche Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Please, just disregard any thought of impedance rise when it comes to music. Rise is needed to be known for burping, but it really has nothing to do with music. Making a better box that has less 'box rise' can help to make your daily system louder, but it is a bad idea to have your amps running at, say .5 ohms unless you know what you are doing and you have a very high quality amp. I would just get the D2 recone, you won't have any issues with that, and it is easier to sell a D2 than a D1.4 if you feel like getting a different sub later. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
