Audio Distribution Amps??

I'm putting together a small system for my room in which I want to add a bigger sub/enclosure but would like to keep my speakers for mid and high ranges. Would an audio distribution amp be able to put per say 100w to my subs and only like 10-15w to my speakers? I know these devices are used mostly for bigger systems, but even if I just adjusted the gain for my channels does anyone think I could use one of these to power a system like this? Or would I have to run two different amps or speakers with higher wattage handling? Thanks

Audio distribution amp? Sounds more like you need a crossover.

true.....thinking of something different now... If i got a 2 channel amp with 75watts per channel, could I use one channel for my sub and split the other channel to power my mids and highs? I wouldn't think the L&R would be any different from each other so using only one "side" won't effect sq or anything will it?
