curtdakota Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 im buying an AQ2200D and this is the first amp ive had that isnt internally fused (i currently have its little brother, the AQ1200D). i will dedicating a run of knu 1/0 wire for the amp, now my question is do i fuse 18" from the battery AND close to the amp..or will the fuse at the battery be sufficient? id like to just fuse near the battery if possible, id like to get away with the least amount of connections possible, but if i HAVE to fuse near the amp i will.
Rebel4055 Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Pretty sure 1 fuse will do the job. Rest In Peace mother. January 22, 1955 - February 14, 2013 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/user/35351-megrch/

Freshman6969 Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 if you wanna be extra safe then 2 fuses, but its not necessary, you only need 2 fuses if you have 2 batterys or more if more batterys Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! Why would you EVER WANT flex?huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct? My FeedbackJeep-BuildlogPT LOSER buildlog

BeachJoshua Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 By externally fused do you mean this amp has no fuses? I'm not exactly a noob, but I've never heard of such. | S-10 | 4.5^3 ft | 33Hz | SAE-1000D @ 1 Ohm | 2 SA-12s | SPL: 143.7 Sealed | 153.4 Port Wars

AQ2200D, AQ3500D, sundown saz1500D, saz2500D, saz3500D, and saz4500D, i could name more, but you get my point.
AMI CUSTOMS Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 You need to put a fuse as close to the amp as possible on the power wire use an anl 250 or 200. And it will tell you in the paper work with the amp how they recommend it.
